Removing all doubt...
I recently discovered the existence of BlogExplosion (http://blogexplosion.com/), a site devoted to the mutual promotion of blog traffic. Great idea, says I, and signed up. I submitted my site for consideration, and a few hours later was in receipt of their polite notice of uninterest. My moving, having been the cause of a hiatus, left than concerned that my blog might be an orphan, or at least just not interesting.
I can appreciate that no one wishes to promote a blog that is not doing anything, but there is an old quote of which I am fond: "It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open one's mouth and remove all doubt." Abe Lincoln said that, and it seems fitting when I consider many of the blogs that are updated at a high rate. Even on the short list of blogs I read often, the incestuous nature of their coverage and cross-linking has tended to reduce their value significantly.
So, though I may not be able to get listed on BlogExplosion, I will continue to write when I have something worth saying, and hope that in doing so, I do not remove from those who read me all doubt as to my foolishness.
